RELEASE OF LIABILITY, WAIVER OF CLAIMS, AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT

1. Acknowledgment and Assumption of Risk
By signing this form, I ("Releasor") understand that participation in the above-referenced event involves inherent risks, hazards, and dangers that may result in injury, illness, death, or property damage. These risks may arise from my own actions, the actions of others, or the conditions of the premises or equipment.
I voluntarily and knowingly assume all such risks, both known and unknown, even if arising from the negligence of the Released Parties (defined below), to the fullest extent permitted by California law.

2. Release and Waiver of Liability
In consideration for being permitted to participate in this event, I hereby voluntarily release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue:
Ecological Farming Association, and its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, agents, representatives, affiliates, successors, and assigns
(collectively, the “Released Parties”)
from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, damages, losses, or liability of any kind, including those arising from the NEGLIGENCE of the Released Parties, related to my participation in this event.
This release applies to all claims, including but not limited to:
Personal injury
Illness or disease
Property damage
Wrongful death
to the fullest extent permitted by California law.

3. California Civil Code Section 1542 Waiver
Waiver of Unknown Claims
Releasor expressly acknowledges that he/she/it has been advised of and is familiar with the provisions of California Civil Code section 1542, which provides:
“A general release does not extend to claims that the creditor or releasing party does not know or suspect to exist in his or her favor at the time of executing the release and that, if known by him or her, would have materially affected his or her settlement with the debtor or released party.”
Releasor expressly waives and relinquishes any and all rights and benefits under Civil Code section 1542 and any law of any other jurisdiction of similar effect. Releasor understands and agrees that this Release extends to all claims of every nature and kind, known or unknown, suspected or unsuspected, past or present, which Releasor now owns or holds, or has at any time heretofore owned or held, against the Released Parties, including without limitation those claims that may arise from facts presently unknown or unsuspected.

4. Medical Authorization
I authorize the Released Parties to obtain emergency medical treatment for me if necessary. I agree that I am financially responsible for any medical care provided.

5. Rules and Conduct
I agree to follow all safety instructions, rules, and directions. I understand that failure to do so may result in my removal from the event without refund or compensation.

6. Photo and Media Release
I grant permission to the nonprofit to photograph, video record, or otherwise record my participation and to use such recordings for nonprofit, educational, or promotional purposes without compensation.

7. Indemnification
I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims arising from my own actions, misconduct, or violation of rules during the event.

8. Severability
If any portion of this agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

9. Knowing and Voluntary Agreement
I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK AGREEMENT. I FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. I UNDERSTAND THAT I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE. I SIGN THIS AGREEMENT VOLUNTARILY.
